Love is the most important gift you can give your children. Always love them no matter what they do. And also always hug them no matter how old they may think they are. Everyone needs hugs to survive. Every time your child does something naughty like spill juice on your brand new furniture, just take a deep breath and count to ten. Train yourself to count. It might not save tears, but it will save pain. Sometimes it's really hard not to yell and all mothers yell at some point.
Learn to respect your children and they will respect you. Be glad about the little things they do for you, and always appreciate them and then they will do them more often.
