A Usana Review You Can Hang Your Hat On.

By Rob Kelly

Usana Health Sciences has definitely stood the test of time. They have been in business for 19 years and are based in West Valley City, UTAH. Started by an immunologist and microbiologist, Dr. Myron Wentz opened the company for business in 1992. Since then they have continued to grow. Without a doubt this is due primarily to its fantastic products and certainly also is indicative of the tremendous success of its distributors.

There are three categories that Usana Products can be grouped in. They are: Diet and energy, skin care, and nutritional products and supplements. They have very good energy drinks; The Reset meal replacement shakes and protein bars truly do taste excellent. Youngevity's Pollen Burst in their Projoba line tastes and works better, in my opinion, as far as energy drinks are concerned. I will discuss more about the Youngevity products in future articles. Usana's nutritionals include the Essentials, the Optimizers, and their detox/digestion products.

Usana believes that because all their products are manufactured and packaged in the same facility, a huge state of the art facility to be sure, that this guarantees the the potency and quality of their nutritional products. They believe the quality of the product lines can be attributed to this fact. I don't know for sure if that has much to do with it. I just think their employees have a lot of integrity and commitment to their customers. You don't survive twenty years with millions of customers if these qualities don't exist in your people.

To join Usana, you can jump in with a business development system for either $20 or you can get the full version for $49.95 As you ascend through the Usana comp plan you can start new business centers. Usana employs a binary compensation plan. For those less familiar with this type of pay-plan, it's easy as pie to understand. The first two people you sponsor are always place on you first level directly under you; One on the left, one on the right. Everyone else is always placed directly under them. As each side grows, you get paid on a weekly basis on the volume of the lesser leg. All the volume from the larger leg gets carried over from week to week so there is no commission flushing.

In February of 2007, Mr. Barry Minkow of the Fraud Discovery Institute passed out a report to the FBI claiming that Usana Health Sciences was an illegal pyramid scheme. In my opinion, this is just another example of a quality MLM company being put through the ringer for absolutely nothing. Needless to say, the FBI and SEC found absolutely nothing incriminating during their investigation. Turns out that after the news, the company's stock plunged from $60/share to $32/share.

So what's the verdict? Without question, Usana is a great company that has worked out any growing pains long ago. It's products are of top quality, it's pay plan is more than adequate, and it's leaders are extremely competent. For anyone considering joining a nutritional MLM company, Usana Health Sciences should be on their short-list.
