Here Are A Few Options For Getting A Private Jet

By Vera S. Tidwell

It is quite common for large businesses that have to send executives on important business trips fairly often to want to find a way to acquire a private jet for their own use, because flying with a commercial airline is typically too inconvenient for their purposes. When the business leaders are looking to get a hold of one of these expensive pieces for incredible machinery, they will come across three primary ways that they can go about doing just that, and there are advantages and disadvantages to each one.

The first and most obvious way to have your own aircraft would be to actually go out and purchase one, but it is usually under special circumstances that your typical corporation would choose to make such a massive investment. The average cost of a business class airplane can run you anywhere from five million to fifty million dollars, and that doesn't even take into account the cost of maintenance, crew wages, storage, and other ongoing fees. That is a very large sum of money for just any business to be spending, so it makes sense that many will prefer to go with a more economical choice.

The next option a company would have for air travel would be to go with one of the available charter services which will let you rent out your very own aircraft for an hourly fee and a few other costs that may or may not occur throughout your trip. There are quite a few reasons why so many tend to choose this option above the others, but some of the best reasons have to do with the fact that there are many planes available for when more than one person needs to make a trip and their ability to get you straight to your destination.

Another way that your company could go about getting a plane is to become part of a fractional ownership, in which you would only pay a part of the plane's cost to be able to use it a part of the time. In a lot of ways, this set up is basically like a timeshare you would purchase for a fancy resort, and like a time share, your discounted price is balanced out by the fact that you won't always be able to enjoy your airplane whenever you want to.

You could also get a jet card to purchase your flight time on a charter service with, because they are prepaid and are known to save your company a small fortune through discounts and being able to avoid inflation. Whether you buy your own private jet or simply buy some flight time with a charter company, it only matters that you choose what is appropriate for your company.
