Orange Roses Convey Emerging Emotions

By Jenny Karen

Red roses vary in color, but all of these beautiful flowers convey deep feelings like those expressed by the best writers through the ages. As a cross between yellow, traditionally meaning friendship and red, the symbol of love, orange roses are coming to mean a friendship emerging into a passion leading to love. Like the spark of a flame igniting a fire of passion, orange roses are often seen as a symbol of growing love.

The brilliant color is highly-regarded as one of the most popular of the newer colors of roses, in shades ranging from brilliant orange to peach color. They are also becoming accepted as the follower of Halloween with its orange color. Whether it is the color orange associated with sunset or the color associated with the smell of citrus fruit, orange roses, introduced in the late 20th century, is having a profound effect on the industry.

Many other writers use red roses as symbols of love. The passion ignited like the fire present in the orange color. The combination of yellow and red brings together two distinctly different emotions to represent a third and growing feeling of desire, passion and potentially enthusiasm.

The new hybrid orange roses may have between 26 and 28 petals and grows between three to three-and-a-half feet tall. Common names are Amber Queen, Brandy and Las Vegas and can have a dull or glossy finish. They all typically have a strong, sweet aroma offer strong resistance to diseases.Varieties of orange roses are in short supply and there are just three in the climbing category. There are no orange roses listed as roaming roses and even miniatures are on a short list. There are more varieties of moderately short and fewer moderately tall but since the color is a more recent addition to the rose family, more breeding will eventually lead to more available varieties.

They educate all of the others who are interested in these great flowers so they know when to plant, feed and prune them. For example, a dull purple rose may seem to light up when placed near an orange one and when mixed with a bright pink can bring out the nature of the more subdued color.Since the breeding of orange roses is still relatively young, the color may have a tendency to fade or lose its coloring all together. It may take many more generations of growth to completely imbed the color into the flowers as well as the flowers into more gardens.
