My family has a sweet cabin on the lake in Idaho, and we are always eager to get out there to enjoy the lake, and as the cabin does not have a television, we decided to take some cheap jigsaw puzzles with us. My wife and I had often enjoyed working puzzles together ever since we had begun dating, and we had fostered a love of puzzles in our children as well, so they were happy about the idea to get some new puzzles to take to the lake.
My first thought was just to hurry down to the nearest toy store and pick up what they had on clearance, but when I got there, I found that they only had one kind of puzzle on clearance and that all the other puzzles were way too pricey. Feeling discouraged I decided that we would just have to use our old puzzles and games from previous years.
When I got there, I told my wife what had happened, but oddly, she didn't seem bothered at all as she just nodded and left the room. I didn't think there was anything else I could do about the situation, so I set out to get the boat in tip top shape and pack up all of our other necessities. Later, while I was tinkering with the boat, my wife came by and had a funny smile on her face but wouldn't tell me what was up.
The next week whizzed by as we got ready to leave on our trip and we were all filled with excitement and expectations. One day that week, the doorbell rang and I was very confused to find a package sitting on my front doorstep. I showed it to my wife, who cheerfully informed me that she had found some cheap jigsaw puzzles online and had ordered them in order to surprise me and the kids.
We waited to show them to the kids until we were at the cabin, and when we did, the kids were thrilled and could hardly wait to get started on them. My wife had ordered some horse puzzles that the children were eager about, and the lion puzzles she ordered turned out to be a big hit. She even included some 3D jigsaw puzzles which we had never seen before, and we had a terrific time putting them together, and adored having our quality family time.
