NYC can undoubtedly be intimidating simply because of its sheer size and the amount of people there. It can especially be overwhelming to those visiting for the first time. These types of visitors especially could use these hand tips for visiting New York City, whether they are staying for just a day or for a little longer. There is lots to do and also see, so perhaps staying for longer than a day is best.

For tourists interested in seeing some sights, this area has a number of special monuments and famous landmarks that are worth seeing. The Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty are two of the most popular spots that come to mind. Visitors should note that popular places like these can be very crowded.

If the Manhattan skyline is not so much your thing, perhaps you want to enjoy more of a cultural visit. Another fantastic visit in NYC is Central Park, which is well known thanks to its being featured in a number of movies. Tourists can stroll in the park simply enjoying the environment, or they can stop at one of the many vending carts for a treat. The park is fun for kids as well, with features like the zoo to keep them entertained.

Another NYC feature that will appeal to many is the beauty of Times Square with all its lights and big screen displays. At Christmastime, Times Square is home to the world famous New Year's Eve party, which millions tune into on TV to see the ball drop at midnight. If you happen to be there around that time, don't miss it!

The most important of all the tips for visiting New York City is to have fun! Visitors will find that once they embrace the busyness of their surroundings, then it doesn't matter where they plan to go. The truth is that there is so much to see along the way that the destination doesn't really matter in the end!
