The stories appear normal on the surface until you take a ride to an unknown underworld. Successful authors have used this style to create the best mystery books for adults. Here are a few of these titles.

Stephen King is known for his ability to weave a believable story. In his novel The Revival, A Novel, he tells of a bond that develops between a young boy and a pastor who has just arrived at his town. The mysterious bond results in a relation that is difficult to understand by all means. They share similar grief and have to deal with demons to survive. King has spread the narration across several decades and ends on a terrifying note.

Lee Child reveals his ability to create excellent mystery stories in his novel Personal, A Jack Reacher Novel. Jack is recalled to the police force after a gunman attempts to assassinate French president. Jack has to track the attempted shooter. He only knows one person who shoots with such precision from such a distance.

The details surrounding the murder of Chris Harper were about to be forgotten until his picture emerges captioned I KNOW WHO KILLED HIM. The detectives assigned the case are Antoinette Conway and Stephen Moran. They will be shocked to discover the mysteries that characterize teenage life. Tana French is the author behind the title The Secret Place.

John Danielle is the author behind The Wolf in White Van. The story begins and ends with the tragic accident that confines Phillips Sean to a wheelchair. He thus spends his time creating video games. One of his games involves crime. Two lovers of his work decide to try out what they encounter in the game. Only by reading the novel can you discover their fate.

Johnson Denis is the writer behind The Laughing Monsters. It is about two friends who come together after a decade of separation. Ronald returns to Sierra Leone to visit Adriko and his wife-to-be. The trio embarks on a journey through the jungle to Uganda. Unknown to any of them, each is on a personal mission. It will surprise you to discover that relationships are bound by mysteries.

Terry Hayes does an excellent Job with the title I Am a Pilgrim. It attempts to unravel the secret that connects four foul murders. Each of them is brutal and would best be forgotten in the shortest time possible. But to a retired CIA agent, this is what he should have been doing all his active life. He has a chance to rediscover his investigative instincts.

Mysteries in novels take several forms. Depending on your interest, there are numerous titles that will capture your attention.
