The Natural World With Porcupine Mountains Camping

By Pamela Johnson

Humankind likes to believe that it has control over the world. They are right to believe so. After all, no other species has ever been able to affect changes in its environment on the same scale that humanity has. But there are some things in life that do not lend themselves well to human manipulation. But there are some things that are perfect suited to being bent to the human will. Now, some people will try to find the uncontrollable, to find some level of adversity. Which is why some go Porcupine mountains camping.

There a number of reasons to go camping. Some campers may want to reconnect with the natural world. But then some people camp not because camping is the experience in and of itself, but because they are going something else that requires them to be away from civilization.

With any activity, there is going to be some equipment that is needed. A painter needs brushes and an easel, not to mention the paint itself. So a camper will need some things like a tent, to sleep in, and a sleeping bag, to make that sleep a little bit more comfortable. Now, there is also going to be some other things that are going to have to be packed in the bag, like a compass and a knife. Plus some matches, because a fire will be needed, and a flare, in case the position needs to be made known.

There are things that can be done to avoid the worst. First of all, beaten path may not seem all that exciting, but the road less travelled can lead to things like bears. The last thing any camper wants to see is a hungry bear, the single most powerful terrestrial predator currently extant.

Speaking of apex predators, humanity is one, probably the deadliest ever. However, it is still at a physical disadvantage when compared to the other apex predators. Which is why there are things that need to be done to defend against them. Things like having some kind of weapon at the ready.

Now, a camper should also understand the land. That means having a general idea of how the grounds are laid out. That way, they will be able to find their way back to their campsite in the event that they get lost.

The compass is also something that should be read. The compass will tell a person which direction they are going in. That can be very useful if a person gets lost, as it is absolutely needed to find the way back to a campsite.

Most survival experts will agree on one thing. That would be the knife. There are so many things that can be done with a knife. Digging trenches can be done with a knife. Then there are also entities out there that mean harm to an individual. Which is why having a knife around can be handy. Because the blade is pretty pointy and the edge is pretty sharp, it can be used for slashing and stabbing, which makes it an ideal weapon for close quarter combat. Still, it would be best to avoid combat in the first place.

The thing about living is that it is easy. It used to be much harder. But hundreds of generations of innovation have made it so that being alive is relatively easy. But some people want to find that difficulty, even if only for a few moments. But before those moments can happen, some preparation is needed, just to make sure that they can continue with the living, no matter how hard or easy it is.
