Every year, a lot of aspirants, to be popular through films, enter the competitive world of films but only some become successful. Proving his talent in portraying different characters was Hrithik Roshan, who is son to Rakesh Roshan (producer and director).
People have seen him in Bhagwan Dada, Apke Deewane and Aasha (all released in '80s), as a child artist. He would be one of those lucky actors, who got a very good opening in their career and a good review from critics too. His first film Kaho Na Pyaar Hai (in 2000), gave him the chance to act in double roles. Not only was the movie a big hit at the box office, but it also received a number of honors to its name.
Hrithik Roshan became a star overnight and he also bagged the awards for best debut actor and best actor of the year. The movie was included in Limca Book of Records for the numerous awards it got in a single year. Kaho Na Pyaar Hai had won a total of 102 awards for itself.
In the same year, he got chance to work with directors like Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Khalid Mohammed in Mission Kashmir and Fiza respectively. His performances were rated as good by critics and this consistency was to be followed in the next year also. His movie Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham was also a major success and it also was the second biggest movie to earn a good collection in the year.
He acted along with a few of the stars like Jaya Bachchan, Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. The year 2002 did not bring him luck as a lot of of his films failed to entertain audience and his popularity went down. In 2003, he once more showed his excellence in acting with Koi Mil Gaya with Preity Zinta and acted as a mentally challenged individual. Yet another fresh character was given to him in Farhan Akhtar's movie Lakshya where he enacted the change in the character of a person from careless to being responsible, with finesse.
Afterwards he took a sabbatical from films for a few years and reemerged with Krrish, in which he plays double role, the first one that of a super hero. This film is sequel to Koi Mil Gaya. The stylish avatar of a super hero was accepted by the family audience in India. With the success of Dhoom, it was again good times for Hrithik in the industry.
With Jodha Akbar and Luck By Chance, he displayed his excellent acting talent. He was praised for his role in the acclaimed film Guzaarish, for doing the character of Ethan Mascarenhas. His upcoming movies Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Krrish 2 are being awaited with eagerness. Hrithik Roshan lives in Mumbai with wife Suzanne Khan and kids.
