There is a total of 50 states in the United States and Indiana accounts for one of them. This state is ranked number 38 as per the land area and is ranked number 15 in population and number 16 in population density. Indiana Residents are called Hoosiers.

Indianapolis is Indiana's capital city. It was believed that Abraham Lincoln and his parents Thomas & Nancy Lincoln migrated to Spencer County which is located in Indiana when Abraham Lincoln was 7 years old.

Travelers wishing to go on a vacation with their family or friends will love Indiana because there are plenty of tourist attractions to be seen and the city has plenty to offer for tourists such as amusement parks, sporting events, museums, wildlife etc.

During World War II, there were plenty of airfields established in Indiana by the United States Army Air Force (USAAF) to train pilots & other aircrews for mid air-fighting & bombing.

Indiana is also famous for its first of its kind E-bike which has got similar features of a bicycle and is known as Light Electric Vehicles (LEV's) which provides a cleaner, safer & an enjoyable future. The E-Bike is best suited for morning travels and weekend trails.

Indiana is also famous for its state emblems. These emblems are Limestone (State stone), Cardinal (state bird), Tulip tree (State Tree), Peony (State Flower), Wabash River (State River). A very unusual incident happened in 1972. Peruvian Mr. Lowell Elliot found $500,000 on his farm. He felt it was a god's gift from heaven. It was true but the money was dropped from the sky by a skyjacker who had stolen it. He was eventually caught by the authorities and Mr. Elliot returned the money back to the authorities.

Some of the famous facts about Indiana are that the 1st Gold fish farm was opened in Indiana in 1899. This was a first of its kind in the whole of the USA. Indiana is also known as the 'Mother of Vice Presidents' because the state has 5 times elected Vice Presidents. They were Thomas Hendricks, Schuyler Colfax, Charles Fairbanks, Dan Quayle and Thomas Marshall.
