* Self-portrait during the early days is those portraits where the artists painted themselves with the help of a mirror. The best artist of the n the late 19th century, who self-portrait himself was none other than Vincent van Gogh.
* State portrait is an official portrait which depicts the social position of an individual and power he holds. An example is that of The Emperor Napoleon.
What tips must a Portrait Painter know in order to become a good Portrait Painter? * The beginners should start out with a lighting effect where light and shadow is in high contrast. This will enable a much easier painting. They should focus on one section at a time. They should finish each section before moving on to the next.
* You should try and repeat the colors and values in the painting in order to create a balance.
* You should add color where the shadow meets the light in the portraits. Thus, with this knowledge an aspiring Portrait Painter can really improve upon their style.
