Before you begin your search for a bartending San Diego job, keep in mind, you must be of legal drinking age in the city before you can be considered for a job that would require you to serve alcoholic beverages to consumers. If you are not sure of the age requirements and how they may affect you, check with your local government officials.

Most places you apply to work will not require you to have a lot of experience before being hired. Often, you will be trained on the job. Despite often having the opportunity to learn on the job, whenever possible you should take the time to learn as much as you can about mixing drinks before you begin your new job.

The server must provide an excellent customer experience with strong personable skills and be able to be prompt and to deal with mathematical problems that will arise. You also must be the kind of person who is a team player and can do a variety of tasks at once.

It is important to be aware of and willing to follow the dress code of the establishment you are going to work with. While some businesses dress casually others are more strict. Always be prepared to dress accordingly and be sure that you dress properly when attending an interview.

Along with being mindful of dress code for an interview, be sure you have prepared for the interview itself as much as possible. Keep in mind, the more prepared you are the more impressed you will make the interviewer.

Also, keep in mind, it takes time to get skilled in mixing drinks regardless of where you are working so, be patient and practice as much as you can.
