Nutritious, Easy And Healthy Recipes

By Mary Harris

There are so many reasons for maintaining good health. Good health leads to a better quality of life and in many cases longer life as well. Maintaining good health is however a challenge in this modern age that is dominated by fast paced living. People who live and work in today's world transition swiftly from one setting to the next for social and professional purposes. When this happens it can be quite difficult to pay attention to how the body is being treated. Easy and healthy recipes have therefore become high priority for many people.

Nutritionists tend to agree with the assertion that meats and processed foods are generally bad for human health. Sadly though, many people consume fast foods, which often come loaded with these harmful ingredients. They often opt for these meals because they are easily accessible and the natural and nutritional alternatives are considered to be difficult and time consuming to prepare.

This is one reason vegetarian diets have become so popular among health nuts. A typical vegan recipe will include in its ingredients list items such as celery, carrots, almonds and cabbage. For vegans the items from the typical diet that they choose not to consume are replaced by vegan friendly alternatives. One example is cow's milk which is replaced by almond or rice milk.

Vegetarian dishes vary slightly in that they incorporate some types of foods from animals such as milk, fish and cheese. Vegetarian meals are also considered healthy and are less restricting than vegan diets because some foods from animals are included. Most nutritionists will readily recommend a vegetarian diet to their patients.

What makes some of these meals unappealing to many health enthusiasts is the length of time it takes to prepare them as well as the technical nature of the preparation instructions. Many people simply do not have the time for the baking, broiling and steaming along with the many pre- preparation techniques. This has always been a major deterrent to starting a more nutritious diet.

Fortunately, not all nutritional meals require complicated processes. Juices for instance sometimes only require the availability of the products and an extractor or blender. Juices, for the most part are easy to make. As long as the equipment is available the ingredients can be thrown in and within a few minutes or seconds the juice is available for consumption. This is even faster when ingredients that require minimal preparation such as starfruit and cucumbers are used.

Some salads, such as tossed salad are quick and easy to make. For many of them washing and combining the items completes the process. For a tossed salad, for example, all that may be needed is washed bits of carrots cabbage and lettuce. This can be mixed with nuts such as almonds or other healthy additions like raisins.

It is worth noting though, that complete wellness is not achieved by diet alone. Other factors such as rest and physical exercise must be incorporated into any plan to safeguard or maintain good health. Any health enthusiast who wants to achieve optimum wellness ought to ensure that a balance between these three elements, rest diet and exercise is found.
