Various Designs Of Pool Canopy

By John Cook

Swimming is not only a sport but a recreational activity that enable s one to be physically fit. People especially adore it as a recreational activity. People mostly swim when the sun is hot but go to sunbathe by the side of the pond. Sometimes, you may want to be in the poo but under a shade at the same time. Below are some of the available pool canopy.

Shade sails are some of the most common canopies. They are known to give the loch a classy modern look. They also can be placed at any angle you desire. They come in different colours giving you a chance to choose. However, one cannot be able to cover a whole loch lest the shade covering the pool in shifts. They are resistant to strong winds making them a tad expensive.

Pergolas are a type of shade made of wood. For them, it is advisable to put it up at one end of the loch as the it will provide a perfect shade and light on the pond. The pond gets a very attractive view, and you will always be tempted to take a dive. Pergolas also add the value of your home provided the wood used is of good quality.

There is the option of retractable canopies. These have a control area where you can close the whole thing or leave it a little bit open like a skylight. This, however, does not mean the pond is in an enclosed place. It covers the whole pond, and it is up to you to decide when to open and close the company. Keeping it always closed will make it somewhat an indoor pool.

Apart from the retractable shade, there is the option of umbrellas that give you control. Those beautiful beach umbrellas can be modified and made to stand on the sides of the pool. The advantage of this is you can make it to your own liking. You also are able to move the umbrellas to the side of the pond to positions that you feel most comfortable with.

Cantilevers are another option. These are set up by putting up two vertical poles into the cement around the loch and extending a canopy from them onto the pond for both the people inside and on the side of the loch. It is however not supposed to cover the whole loch because it does not have the retracting option.

There are retractable enclosures. They do enclose the loch, but they still do let in the light that is needed which can still be controlled. For the warmth of the sun, the roof part has to be retracted. However, not the whole structure is retracted.

A poolside free-standing structure is not really a loch canopy. As the name suggests its placed on the side of the pond. It is a kind of pergola; only it does not cover any part of the pond. You can, however, put some patio furniture so that you can spend time with your friends and family. You can enjoy the sun while in the pond and then relax at the side of it.
