The Ancient City Of Jerusalem Israel:Natural Beauty and Tradition

By John Roney

Jewish emigration into Israel did not begin with refugees from Hitler's Europe back in the 1920s the typical Jewish home already have a little blue box of the Jewish national fund for the collection of nickels and dimes to assist Israeli land reclamation then long underway long before anyone outside of Germany had heard of Hitler. Nor did the emigration begin with the Balfour Declaration of 1917. A Jewish militia, a direct ancestor of the Haganah, was already protecting settlement in Israel in 1909, at a time when Arab nationalism did not yet exist Tel Aviv was founded in that year as far back as 1905 an addition of the Encyclopaedia Britannica reported the population of Jerusalem as 40,000 Jews 13,000 Christians and 7000 Muslims.

The stone is primarily used in the construction of building due to its superb display of color ranging from white, yellow, pink and gold. It is also famous for the inherent strength to sustain different weather conditions. Jerusalem occupies a special place in the world for having the core of three religions - the Christianity, Judaism and Islam. The Christianity has its holy footprints to define the place as the Holy Land for all the Christians in the world and Jerusalem as the Holy City.

Yarkon Park, Tel Aviv's green lung Yarkon is a great park on both banks of the Yarkon River ending by the sea. Watch the boats or rent one yourself, walk, cycle, picnic, relax and visit the petting zoo. Shopping, Tel Aviv has many different types of shopping - several great malls, but also HaTachana - a restored train station near Jaffa and Tel Aviv port. There are also more special places like the Carmel Market and Nahalat Binyamin. Museums and Galleries, There are some outstanding museums, including the Diaspora Museum, Rabin Center and the Haaretz Museum. There are also many fine galleries including the Tel Aviv Museum of Art. Architecture, Tel Aviv is famous for the number and quality of its Bauhaus style buildings.

Cycling, There are many well developed cycle tracks through Yarkon Park and of course along the coast. You can also ride north from the port to Tel Baruch beach (and even beyond towards Herzliya.) Neve Tzedek, One of the oldest neighborhoods, now being extensively restored and a popular tourist walk. Look Up, Visit the observation deck in the Azrieli Towers - great views of the city, the sea and eastward towards the mountains and Jerusalem.

Party Time, Tel Aviv prides itself as the city in Israel that never sleeps, there is a wide choice of places to eat and party. Nearby, Israel is a small country and Tel Aviv makes a great base to tour Israel. For day trips try Ashkelon - an ancient city with an amazing beach and just to the north Herzliya Beach. Places further a field would include Haifa and perhaps the Galilee and Golan, South to some of the highlights of the Negev Desert and if you are not staying in The Ancient City Of Jerusalem Israel you should devote a day or more to catching the highlights.
