How to Choose Wedding Party Dresses

By John Jones

Dressing up for a party is cakewalk; one has to be very particular about what one wears. A lot depends on the venue, the kind of people attending the party and the purpose of the party. Women are almost always spoilt for choice and choices for a party dress are no exceptions.

We have to admit that the pear shaped ladies are luckier because they can go for almost any type of Party & Cocktail Dresses. If you are this type of a lady, you should go for a dress that shows some cleavage, highlights your bum and the hips while at the same time bring out your thin waist. This is a dress that will flatter your body perfectly and you can be assured that it will make heads turn.

When there is a nice dinner that you are supposed to be attending, the ideal party dress is the dinner Party & Cocktail Dresses. Dinner dresses are generally long, flaring at the bottom. They look extremely chic, though not as formal as the gown, they are quite comfortable to move around in. if it not dinner and it is just a cocktail party, and there are choices galore. Cocktail dresses are generally ruled by the trends of the season. There is no fixed color or style for the cocktail dress. Generally extremely chic and urbane they became extreme difficult to choose, each dress has a different personality of its own. Been on since the 1950s this dress is one that refuses to go out of style.

There are many different kinds of other dresses that do not have a history as such but have looked pretty as always. One such dress is the bubble dress. It is very hip and has an almost girlish feeling to it. Day out, brunches are the ideal places to wear a bubble dress to. Sweetheart dresses, tube dresses are other chic pieces that make you look smashing.

Trust your instinct - It may sound obvious, but when buying a new party dress and potentially spending a significant sum of money, you need to genuinely like the dress, and consider whether you'd wear it again. Don't be seduced by a flash-in-the-pan trend. Such a fad will likely limit the amount of times you can wear your party wear and can end up looking forced if it isn't really 'you'. Have fun with details (see above), but stick with what you know and like. Trust your gut feeling - you'll probably know when you've found the right one (invariably, it's one of the first dresses you looked at, about seven shops and three hours ago!).
